Email magazine June 2021 ▶︎Allowing flexibility across many industries and countries: a necessity for the post-covid world Recent months at Shearwater have brought very constracting stories according to industries and countries. For example our newly created korean office is fielding many inquiries from Cosmetics and Fashions companies looking to quicky expand. Similarly, we have just started projects with large japanese industrial companies looking to transform into digital companies, changing business models to add services to products. Several other clients are expanding their cross border EC operations, and both electronics and medical-related companies are also seeing growth across the region. For example tech companies from Israel are really showing up on our radars in Asia. On the other hands our historical customers in hospitality are still hurting - although some show signs of improvements - and are reaching out to us to help plan for a few uncertain months. This tells us a story around:

  1. flexibility to explore new business models

  2. very rapidly scale up when a successful model is found and get traction

  3. Or scale down as necessary to conserve resources (and automate etc to improve operations)

  4. ability to quickly grow and expand internationaly, adding new countries and new teams to the current infrastructure (systems and organization)
